Details Join a sixth generation Port Stanley local, dressed in period costume on this guided tour. The Great-Great Granddaughter of Robert and Elizabeth Martin, Inn keepers of the old Franklin Hotel will guide you from Glover Park around the main areas of town. The Chair of Heritage Port Stanley will explain Port Stanley’s rich history. From the beginning when the Native Canadians settled here, our founding father, and how Port Stanley got its’ name. Many of Port Stanley’s heritage sites will be pointed out along the way as well as some stories to entertain you. Many stories are not even in the history books. The Tour ends at Glover Park and Beth Ann will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Tour Duration 1 hour Tour Price $25 including a $5 donation to Heritage Port Stanley.
Itinerary Your guided tour begins at Glover Park by appointment. Walk down the harbour and learn interesting historical facts and stories about our commercial fishing industry. Stroll up Main Street you will learn the history and significance of some of our most historical buildings such as the Cork House, Russell House, Kettle Creek Inn, Bank Building with lots of colourful stories.
